Six sheets of some the best ice in Eastern Ontario await you at the Brockville Country Club. Plus curlers have full access to the Club's curling lounge, food and bar service, and locker room facilities.

SEASON:  The curling season at the Brockville Country Club runs from late in September to early April each year.

FACILITY:  The Brockville Country Club offers some of the best curling facilities in the region with six (6) sheets of ice. The BCC maintains the most current in curling technology with its Jet Ice, Ice Cleaning and Nipping techniques. The Club also has a full service food and beverage curling lounge overlooking the curling rink. Players and their guests are always welcome to come and watch the play.

CATEGORIES: Various curling categories are provided to accommodate the curling and social requirements of the young and not so young; novice, intermediate to expert curler.
(a) Coffee Club - week day mornings;
(b) Day Ladies -Tuesday and Thursday afternoons;
(c) Business Girls - Monday evenings;

All of the above leagues, with the exception of Flight Curling, are comprised of teams that are selected from the Individual members entered for a particular draw. Flight Curling signifies that four members who wish to curl together can submit their names as a rink in the Flight Curling program. The Committee will also make every effort to place individuals on Flight teams.

The Little Rock Program is offered Sunday afternoons. Little Rocks use a special plastic rock that weights 16-18 pounds, enabling the younger juniors to throw the rock the entire length of the ice. Instruction on how to slide, sweep, and deliver the smaller curling rocks is provided. Team play is held and they even have a Tim Horton's Bonspiel at the end of January each year.

Junior Curling is held on Sunday afternoons right after the Little Rocks. Little Rock curlers that reach the age of 12 can move into this program and continue playing regularly. Volunteer coordinators are appointed to the various Junior Programs and instruction is readily offered throughout the season.

The Mixed Curling Program is the most active section at the Brockville Country Club. Two separate leagues are offered on Wednesday and Friday evenings. The Wednesday League consists of three draws. The Friday League consists of only two draws, and is often associated with a Buffet or other such social activity. In both leagues, teams are rated and placed in sections to ensure fair competition.

Coffee Club Curling involves a season-long, fun-filled member competition and gathering of good friends. Often informal competitions are organized with other Clubs.

SPORTSMANSHIP: Curling is a game built on good sportsmanship. That is why players call rules infractions on themselves and generally aim to have fun and enjoy the competition. There are a number of rules associated with the game of curling. These rules can be found on the bulletin boards as well as in the curling lounge area.
PLAY SMART – PLAY SAFE: The Curling Council reminds that all curlers should practice safety on the ice at all times. The Club STRONGLY RECOMMENDS that all curlers wear their sliding sole only for the delivery of the stone and that a gripper be worn over the slider at all other times. Not only will this increase your stability and safety on the ice, but it will also help you become a more effective sweeper.Also please note that your curling rocks belong on your sheet of ice at all times. Control runaway rocks that result from take-out shots. When collecting rocks after an end, keep them under control and be careful not to hit someone with a rock when sliding them to the back of the house.

CLUB ACCOMPLISHMENTS: The Brockville Country Club has hosted many events over the years including the Ontario Scott Tournament of Hearts; the Ontario Provincial Junior Championships and the Ontario Senior Winter Games. Our Club has also had many of our members participate in events around the world. The Brockville County Club is the proud winners of the Governor Generals award 7 of the last 10 years.

The BCC is also the proud host of the Shorty Jenkins Classic which has kicked off the Curling Tour season since 1996. The “Shorty” attracts some of the top Canadian and International curlers. The Martin; Howard; Gushue; Hemmings; Hanna; McCormick and Reddick are just a few of the celebrity rinks that come to the BCC each year and provide such impressive curling for spectators to enjoy.

And almost weekly, BCC rinks representing the Club head out to other clubs far and wide for Bonspiels, often returning with some of the “gold”. We are proud of our members who travel and play competitively, representing our Club so well.
